Feeding Your Aquarium Fish the Right Type of Food

The fish food department at the pet shop could be overwhelming to a novice owner. First, find out more about your fish species, beginning with if the species are meat-eaters (carnivores) or vegetation eaters (herbivores). From there, options to Pick from include:

That is the most frequent alternative for ingesting a tankful of fish, however, dry fish food also comes in granules and pellets, sinking, and floating varieties, as well as options for specific species. Dry fish food can be reduced in fiber, but adding vegetable foods to the diet will help reduce the danger of coronary artery disorders and bloating to vegetarian species.
Frozen Food: Some fish may appreciate frozen food, including shrimp, bloodworms, plankton, prawn, krill, or mussels.
Freeze Dried: Tubifex worms and Mysis shrimp or other foods are available as freeze-dried cubes. These are extremely healthy and excellent for carnivorous fish. As per pondguides.com. you need to have a proper pond kit as well.

Choosing the Ideal Food

Greens: If your fish would be the type to munch on aquarium plants, such as anacharis, supply them greens as well. Options include lettuce, cucumber, zucchini, and spinach. Clip the greens into the side of the tank or fasten them in place close to the substrate, but remove or replace the corn vegetables within one day. Fish like plecostomus love to eat fresh greens.
The biology of fish means they often require different food. Consequently, in case you have many different fish in your aquarium, use a combination of food–like floating foods, slow-sinking foods, and quickly sinking foodsto ensure they’re getting the nourishment they need.

How Much to Feed

Fish owners are more inclined to overfeed their fish compared to underfeed them, which increases the quantity of waste in the tank. This isn’t only the waste left once the fish do not eat all the meals but also the waste is excreted from the fish because they’re eating more than required. If you realize that ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate levels are going up and the tank appears polluted, you’re probably overfeeding the fish.

Mature fish can be fed once a day, around the same time, though you can feed them several times every day if you’re giving them a smaller sum each feeding. Young fish may need three or four feedings a day. Herbivores typically do not have large stomachs to hold a lot of food, as in nature they’d nibble on plants and algae throughout the day. They can be fed more frequently than carnivores, or specified live greens that they could bite during the day. Adhere to the rule of thumb that you should feed the fish only what they will eat in five minutes. If there is food left after that period (except for your fresh greens), you’re feeding too much. One exception is for fish that are nocturnal (night time) feeders, where you ought to put the food in the aquarium in the evening before turning off the lights, and let the fish eat overnight.

Do not take the size of the aquarium as an indication of just how much food is needed. Five fish at a large aquarium need the same amount of food as five fish in a smaller aquarium–only spread it out throughout the aquarium so everyone can get to it easily.

Residents Welfare Associations of apartments, townships and gated communities across Hyderabad started barricading their approach roads to prevent people from going outside or coming in after warnings from local police, while Municipal Corporators, councillors, MLAs, MLCs and elected representatives started going door to door to appeal to people to stay indoors.

On Tuesday evening, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had chided the elected members for not helping police enforce the lockdown restrictions. The elected representatives today morning started sending Whatsapp messages or visited the residents personally asking them to barricade the approach roads to prevent people from going out.

Milk and vegetables would be made available every morning, residents have been told. The elected members and police are also checking if shops have increased prices of vegetables and warned them of cancelling license if they over charged.

Meanwhile, IT Minister K T Rama Rao has asked IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan to coordinate with Big Basket, Grofers and Amazon to ensure they restart their operations and begin deliveries — especially food items. Earlier, although food and dry rations delivery was exempted, the deliveries by the three services were hampered due to the lockdown restrictions.

“I have asked the IT Secretary to work with them and ensure that they restart their operations soon,” Rao said. To ensure that no one is on the streets, homeless people across Hyderabad are being moved to shelters.

SGB takes public meetings home

SGB will hold its weekly meetings online for the remainder of the semester.

With a bang of the gavel, Student Government Board President Zechariah Brown began the first ever SGB meeting hosted from his dining room.

Brown, along with the rest of the board, hosted a test-run of SGB’s new system for public meetings — group calls over Zoom.

Brown began with the announcement that students can still submit questions to SGB, which will be answered by members of the board during and Dean of Students Kenyon Bonner during and outside of public meetings.

“We’ve been working diligently to record the questions we receive from students and we will be presenting those answers during public meetings starting next week,” Brown said.

Brown said SGB’s public meetings for the remainder of the semester will be conducted on Zoom and students will be able to attend and ask questions. A link to join will be posted on SGB social media accounts advertising next Tuesday’s meeting later this week. The number of participants will be limited to 300 people, according to Zoom’s guidelines.

During board reports, Executive Vice President Anaïs Peterson reminded students about Pitt Mutual Aid, a resource for students and community members who face various forms of insecurity from stipulations of the coronavirus outbreak.

Brown ended the meeting with a reminder that while SGB members are not physically on campus, they are still here to listen to student concerns.

“We’re still here to be there for all students on campus,” Brown said.

Manchester United confident of £100m transfer after two months of negotiations

Jadon Sancho is rated at £100m (Picture: Getty)

Manchester United are ‘confident’ of completing a deal for Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer, despite negotiations halting recently due to the coronavirous outbreak.

The England international was keen on a return to the Premier League last summer but United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League ended their chances of signing Sancho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identified the winger as a priority target within weeks of taking charge at Old Trafford and Daniel James was signed for a fee of around £15m last summer in view of signing Sancho in 2020.

Chelsea have shown interest in Sancho but United are leading the way and Fabrizio Romano, who broke news about United’s deal for Harry Maguire, says the club remain ‘confident’ of bagging the England international.

‘Manchester United have been in contact with Jadon Sancho’s agent for two months and are working on his contract,’ the Italian said on Instagram Live.

‘The coronavirus pandemic is making it hard to communicate with Borussia Dortmund. United are confident.’

The news is sure to please United legend Rio Ferdinand.

The former United captain was singing Sancho’s praises on Tuesday, though he was doubtful whether the club could pull off a move for the winger.

‘I would take Sancho all day, to Man Utd,’ said Ferndinand.

‘Whether we’ll get him, though…

‘Great player, great potential, English, he’s brilliant. I would take Sancho now.’

Coffee & Kareem Trailer Teams Ed Helms and Taraji P. Henson in Netflix’s Wild Cop Comedy

Netflix has released a new red-band trailer for Coffee & Kareem. This is the latest original comedy offering from the streaming service and it comes from director Michael Dowse (Stuber, Goon), with The Office alum Ed Helms in the lead role alongside up-and-comer Terrence Little Gardenhigh in what looks to be a buddy-cop throwback. The company is billing this as “an action-comedy about forging unexpected bonds, one four-letter insult at a time.” This trailer certainly speaks to that, as it’s loaded with action, laughs and quite a bit of cursing.

The trailer kicks off by previewing the chaos to come, before flashing back to how the mess at this movie’s center got started in the first place. Ed Helms character is trying desperately to form a meaningful bond with his girlfriend’s son, and it’s not exactly going well, to say the very least of it. Unwittingly, they get entangled in some violent drama involving a drug gang, which sends them running for their lives. It is lewd, packed with spectacle and seems to blend the 80s vibe with more recent R-rated studio comedies.

Aside from the trailer, Netflix has also released a series of posters for the movie, which channel some 80s classics. Ed Helms and Terrence Little Gardenhigh take on Die Hard, 48 Hours and Beverly Hills Cop. The posters, taken on their own, are quite fun, though they may provide some undue high expectations by nature of comparing Coffee & Kareem to these particular movies, which have undoubtedly stood the test of time. Still, points for creativity in the marketing for this one, especially considering how relatively rare it is to see a good poster these days for a new release.

Coffee & Kareem centers on police officer James Coffee (Ed Helms), who is enjoying his new relationship with Vanessa Manning (Taraji P. Henson). However, her 12-year-old son Kareem (Terrence Little Gardenhigh) is currently plotting their break-up. Attempting to scare away his mom’s boyfriend for good, Kareem attempts to hire a gang of criminals to take him out but accidentally exposes a secret network of illegal activity, which puts him and his family in their sights. To protect his mom, Kareem and Coffee team up for a dangerous chase across Detroit. Shane Mack penned the screenplay and it serves as his first feature.

The cast also includes Betty Gilpin (The Hunt, Glow), RonReaco Lee (Running Out of Time, Sister, Sister}), Andrew Bachelor (The Babysitter, Rim of the World) and David Alan Grier (Jumanji, The Carmichael Show). Michael Dowse most recently directed last year’s Stuber which, unfortunately, wound up becoming quite the box office bomb and one of the notable casualties of the Disney/Fox merger. Dowse also directed the cult hockey comedy Goon and the Daniel Radcliffe romantic comedy What If. Coffee & Kareem is set to arrive on the Netflix streaming service on April 3. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself.

Andy Cohen Updates Viewers On Real Housewives Franchise Amid Coronavirus Spread

Andy Cohen recently updated fans on Real Housewives and whether it’s going to continue anytime soon. Andy, 51, spoke with Amy Phillips on her SiriusXM radio show recently and discussed the idea of releasing some of the upcoming episodes sooner than what was originally planned.

Andy said to the host of the show that many of the episodes are still in the post-production phase. For instance, only a certain number of them have been color-corrected. According to the host, there are around 8-9 episodes finished for Real Housewives of New York City and for Beverly Hills, there are around 5.

Andy went on to say that it’s going to take a lot more time because the editors will be working from home. “It’s going to be a slower process, it’s going to take longer,” the host revealed. The talk show host added that if they were to release them sooner, they might hurt their business in the long-run.

As most know, Andy was just one of many celebrities who were diagnosed with the coronavirus earlier this month. The news came out not long after the host revealed he was going to be hosting the show from his home.

And Andy wasn’t the only celebrity to do this. Many other popular television talk shows sent their workers home due to the fear of spreading the virus, including Dr. Oz, who had an employee test positive for the virus.

Many of the major news networks and TV channels have had to shut their doors temporarily due to an outbreak in their offices. For instance, in the city of New York, Fox News had to go on hiatus due to four of their employees contracting the illness.

On the 20th of March, NBC’s chairman released a statement claiming that one of their employees had died from COVID-19. Page Six was the first to report on the statement from Andy Lack, revealing that an audio technician working for the company passed away.

Andy revealed that Larry Edgeworth had been working for the company for many years and was like a “gentle giant.”

Also Tuesday, Long Beach health officials reported seven new cases of coronavirus in the city, bringing the total to 28.

Long Beach officials say the city’s case total includes one of two Cal State Long Beach students.

Another student who tested positive is not a Long Beach resident, officials said.

Pasadena, which also has its own health department, has reported a total of six cases, which are included in the county’s overall total.

Ferrer said that of the coronavirus cases in the county, 42% are in people aged 18-40, while 39% involve people aged 41-65.

As of Monday, more than 5,700 people have been tested in the county, with about 10% coming back positive.

Ferrer, again, stressed that the number of cases in the county is likely to continue rising due to the increasing availability of testing and said people who are tested should assume they are positive and immediately isolate themselves and notify their close contacts so those people can also go into quarantine.

“Social distancing is one very important tool that we use, but the second tool that we need to ask for your cooperation on is adhering to
isolation and quarantine orders,” she said. “Isolation is required by law for anyone positive for COVID-19 or whose clinician has told them they’re likely to be positive.”
